Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick:
Gemina (The Illuminae Files #2)
by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
release date: October 18th by Knopf
Moving to a space
station at the edge of the galaxy was always going to be the death of
Hanna’s social life. Nobody said it might actually get her killed.
The sci-fi saga that began with the breakout bestseller Illuminae continues on board the Jump Station Heimdall, where two new characters will confront the next wave of the BeiTech assault.
Hanna
is the station captain’s pampered daughter; Nik the reluctant member of
a notorious crime family. But while the pair are struggling with the
realities of life aboard the galaxy’s most boring space station, little
do they know that Kady Grant and the Hypatia are headed right toward Heimdall, carrying news of the Kerenza invasion.
When
an elite BeiTech strike team invades the station, Hanna and Nik are
thrown together to defend their home. But alien predators are picking
off the station residents one by one, and a malfunction in the station’s
wormhole means the space-time continuum might be ripped in two before
dinner. Soon Hanna and Nik aren’t just fighting for their own survival;
the fate of everyone on the Hypatia—and possibly the known universe—is in their hands.
But relax. They’ve totally got this. They hope.
Once again told through a compelling dossier of emails, IMs, classified files, transcripts, and schematics, Gemina raises the stakes of the Illuminae Files, hurling readers into an enthralling new story that will leave them breathless
~~~
I absolutely loved Illuminae, and that is saying something because sci-fi usually doesn't do shit for me. But I did love that book, and I think a lot of it has to do with how cool the format that Kaufman and Kristoff have chosen for their books is. Reading a book in the form of emails and system updates and IM's is faster and draws you in so quickly. So I can't wait to see what else is going to happen in this universe!
waiting on wednesday: foxheart
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine.
This week's pick:
Foxheart by Claire Legrand
release date: October 4 by Greenwillow
Orphan. Thief. Witch.
Twelve-year-old Quicksilver dreams of becoming the greatest thief in the Star Lands. With her faithful dog and partner-in-crime Fox, she’s well on her way—even if that constantly lands them both in trouble. It’s a lonesome life, sleeping on rooftops and stealing food for dinner, but Quicksilver doesn’t mind. When you’re alone, no one can hurt you. Or abandon you.
But the seemingly peaceful Star Lands are full of danger. Witches still exist—although the powerful Wolf King and his seven wolves have been hunting them for years. Thankfully, his bloody work is almost complete. Soon the Star Lands will be safe, free of the witches and their dark magic.
Then one day a strange old woman and her scruffy dog arrive in Quicksilver’s town and perform extraordinary magic. Real magic—forbidden and dangerous. Magic Quicksilver is desperate to learn. With magic like that, she could steal anything her heart desires. She could even find her parents.
But the old woman is not what she seems, and soon Quicksilver has to decide—will she stay at home and remain a thief? Or will she embark upon the adventure of a lifetime and become a legend?
~~~
I read Claire Legrand's middle grade, Some Kind of Happiness, earlier this year, and I was totally blown away by it! When I read about this one, I put it on my TBR so fast, because I cannot wait to see what else Legrand comes up with!

waiting on wednesday: like a river glorious
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick:
Like A River Glorious (The Gold Seer #2)
Rae Carson
release date: September 27 by Greenwillow
blurb: (SPOILERS for book 1): After a harrowing journey across the country, Leah Westfall and her friends have finally arrived in California and are ready to make their fortunes in the Gold Rush. Lee has a special advantage over the other new arrivals in California—she has the ability to sense gold, a secret known only by her handsome best friend Jefferson and her murdering uncle Hiram.
Lee and her friends have the chance to be the most prosperous settlers in California, but Hiram hasn’t given up trying to control Lee and her power. Sabotage and kidnapping are the least of what he’ll do to make sure Lee is his own. His mine is the deepest and darkest in the territory, and there Lee learns the full extent of her magical gift, the worst of her uncle, and the true strength of her friendships. To save everyone, she vows to destroy her uncle and the empire he is building—even at the cost of her own freedom.
The second epic historical fantasy in the Gold Seer trilogy by Rae Carson, the acclaimed author of The Girl of Fire and Thorns.
~~~
Why I'm waiting:
I really enjoyed the first book in this series! I am not usually a huge fan of Gold Rush-era historical fiction, and I find westerns quite boring, but the first book in this series, Walk on Earth a Stranger, was the exception to that rule! I really loved it, and I remember most of the major plot points, even a year later, which is the sign of something really great to me. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book :)
waiting on wednesday: vassa in the night
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick:
Vassa in the Night by Sarah Porter
release date: September 20 by Tor Teen
In the enchanted kingdom of Brooklyn, the fashionable people put on cute shoes, go to parties in warehouses, drink on rooftops at sunset, and tell themselves they’ve arrived. A whole lot of Brooklyn is like that now—but not Vassa’s working-class neighborhood.
In Vassa’s neighborhood, where she lives with her stepmother and bickering stepsisters, one might stumble onto magic, but stumbling out again could become an issue. Babs Yagg, the owner of the local convenience store, has a policy of beheading shoplifters—and sometimes innocent shoppers as well. So when Vassa’s stepsister sends her out for light bulbs in the middle of night, she knows it could easily become a suicide mission.
But Vassa has a bit of luck hidden in her pocket, a gift from her dead mother. Erg is a tough-talking wooden doll with sticky fingers, a bottomless stomach, and a ferocious cunning. With Erg’s help, Vassa just might be able to break the witch’s curse and free her Brooklyn neighborhood. But Babs won’t be playing fair. . . .
Inspired by the Russian folktale Vassilissa the Beautiful and Sarah Porter’s years of experience teaching creative writing to New York City students.
~~~~
Okay, number one, I am obsessed with this cover. Number two, I am also obsessed with Russian folklore. Number three, I love that it is like magical urban fantasy?? In any case, I absolutely cannot wait for this one to come out!

waiting on wednesday: kids of appetite
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick: Kids of Appetite
by David Arnold
release date: September 20th
The bestselling author of Mosquitoland brings us another batch of unforgettable characters in this tragicomedy about first love and devastating loss.
Victor Benucci and Madeline Falco have a story to tell.
It begins with the death of Vic’s father.
It ends with the murder of Mad’s uncle.
The Hackensack Police Department would very much like to hear it.
But in order to tell their story, Vic and Mad must focus on all the chapters in between.
This is a story about:
1. A coded mission to scatter ashes across New Jersey.
2. The momentous nature of the Palisades in winter.
3. One dormant submarine.
4. Two songs about flowers.
5. Being cool in the traditional sense.
6. Sunsets & ice cream & orchards & graveyards.
7. Simultaneous extreme opposites.
8. A narrow escape from a war-torn country.
9. A story collector.
10. How to listen to someone who does not talk.
11. Falling in love with a painting.
12. Falling in love with a song.
13. Falling in love.
~~~
I absolutely loved David's debut novel, Mosquitoland, SO MUCH, it made me cry in all the best ways. (you can find my review here) So naturally, I have been waiting super (im)patiently for his next book to come out! I think that this one sounds incredible, and I especially love anything having to do with lists and codes and mysteries. CAN'T WAIT!
waiting on wednesday: the girl who drank the moon
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
The Girl Who Drank the Moon
Kelly Barnhill
release date: August 9 by Algonquin Young Readers
Every year, the people of the Protectorate leave a baby as an offering to the witch who lives in the forest. They hope this sacrifice will keep her from terrorizing their town. But the witch in the forest, Xan, is kind and gentle. She shares her home with a wise Swamp Monster named Glerk and a Perfectly Tiny Dragon, Fyrian. Xan rescues the abandoned children and deliver them to welcoming families on the other side of the forest, nourishing the babies with starlight on the journey.
One year, Xan accidentally feeds a baby moonlight instead of starlight, filling the ordinary child with extraordinary magic. Xan decides she must raise this enmagicked girl, whom she calls Luna, as her own. To keep young Luna safe from her own unwieldy power, Xan locks her magic deep inside her. When Luna approaches her thirteenth birthday, her magic begins to emerge on schedule--but Xan is far away. Meanwhile, a young man from the Protectorate is determined to free his people by killing the witch. Soon, it is up to Luna to protect those who have protected her--even if it means the end of the loving, safe world she’s always known.
The acclaimed author of The Witch’s Boy has created another epic coming-of-age fairy tale destined to become a modern classic.
~~~
I love the cover of this book SO MUCH! The moon, the paper cranes, the lil dragon thing, and her dress and hair... its gorgeous! I also think that this sounds so intriguing and beautiful, like something you'd just get sucked into and finish in one sitting! I can't wait to see what this one is all about :)

waiting on wednesday: a season for fireflies
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick: A Season For Fireflies
by Rebecca Maizel
release date: June 28 by HarperTeen
synopsis: A captivating contemporary novel about first love, second chances, and the power of memory, by the author of Between Us and the Moon, perfect for fans of Sarah Dessen and Katie Cotugno.
One year ago, Penny Berne was the star of her high school’s theater department, surrounded by a group of misfits and falling in love with her best friend, Wes.
Now her old friends won’t talk to her, her first love, Wes, ignores her, and her best friend is the most popular girl in school. Penny is revered—and hated.
But when a near-fatal lightning strike leaves Penny with no memory of the past year, or how she went from drama nerd to queen bee, Penny realizes she may have the second chance she never expected.…
~~~
This was a random pick that I saw on goodreads while perusing, and I am definitely intrigued. Especially by the idea of a girl losing her memory from lightning? I think that this will probably be a quick read that will be perfect for summer, so I can't wait to try it out!
waiting on wednesday: furthermore
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick: Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi
release date: August 30th by Dutton
There are only three things that matter to twelve-year-old Alice Alexis Queensmeadow: Mother, who wouldn’t miss her; magic and color, which seem to elude her; and Father, who always loved her. The day Father disappears from Ferenwood he takes nothing but a ruler with him. But it’s been almost three years since then, and Alice is determined to find him. She loves her father even more than she loves adventure, and she’s about to embark on one to find the other.
But bringing Father home is no small matter. In order to find him she’ll have to travel through the mythical, dangerous land of Furthermore, where down can be up, paper is alive, and left can be both right and very, very wrong. Her only companion is a boy named Oliver whose own magical ability is based in lies and deceit—and with a liar by her side in land where nothing is as it seems, it will take all of Alice's wits (and every limb she's got) to find Father and return home to Ferenwood in one piece. On her quest to find Father Alice must first find herself—and hold fast to the magic of love in the face of loss.
~~~
I love Tahereh Mafi's Shatter Me, and so I can't wait to see what she does next! This is a middle grade book, but obviously those labels mean nothing and I'm still going to buy this on the day it comes out :) I love the cover so much, and I just think this looks amazing!

waiting on wednesday: empire of storms
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick: Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass #5)
by Sarah J Maas
release date: September 6th by Bloomsbury
(major spoilers for Throne of Glass series in description!)
The long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those don't.
As the kingdoms of Erilea fracture around her, enemies must become allies if Aelin is to keep those she loves from falling to the dark forces poised to claim her world. With war looming on all horizons, the only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.
Aelin's journey from assassin to queen has entranced millions across the globe, and this fifth installment will leave fans breathless. Will Aelin succeed in keeping her world from splintering, or will it all come crashing down?
~~~
In honor of the incredible cover that we have only just recently received, I thought that this week's WoW should feature Empire of Storms! I have absolutely loved every single installment in the Throne of Glass series, and I feel like each book is just getting more and more amazing :) I can't believe that we only have two more books. It feels like yesterday when Crown of Midnight came out. I cannot wait to see what Sarah J Maas cooks up for us in this fifth book. Is it September yet??
waiting on wednesday: the queen of blood
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick:
This week's pick:
release date: September 20th by Harper Voyager
synopsis:
An idealistic young
student and a banished warrior become allies in a battle to save their
realm in this first book of a mesmerizing epic fantasy series, filled
with political intrigue, violent magic, malevolent spirits, and
thrilling adventure
Everything has a spirit: the willow tree with leaves that kiss the pond, the stream that feeds the river, the wind that exhales fresh snow . . .
But the spirits that reside within this land want to rid it of all humans. One woman stands between these malevolent spirits and the end of humankind: the queen. She alone has the magical power to prevent the spirits from destroying every man, woman, and child. But queens are still just human, and no matter how strong or good, the threat of danger always looms.
With the position so precarious, young women are chosen to train as heirs. Daleina, a seemingly quiet academy student, is under no illusions as to her claim to the throne, but simply wants to right the wrongs that have befallen the land. Ven, a disgraced champion, has spent his exile secretly fighting against the growing number of spirit attacks. Joining forces, these daring partners embark on a treacherous quest to find the source of the spirits’ restlessness—a journey that will test their courage and trust, and force them to stand against both enemies and friends to save their land . . . before it’s bathed in blood.
waiting on wednesday: this savage song
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick:
This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab
release date: July 5
There’s no such thing as safe in a city at war, a city overrun with monsters. In this dark urban fantasy from acclaimed author Victoria Schwab, a young woman and a young man must choose whether to become heroes or villains—and friends or enemies—with the future of their home at stake. The first of two books, This Savage Song is a must-have for fans of Holly Black, Maggie Stiefvater, and Laini Taylor.
Kate Harker and August Flynn are the heirs to a divided city—a city where the violence has begun to breed actual monsters. All Kate wants is to be as ruthless as her father, who lets the monsters roam free and makes the humans pay for his protection. All August wants is to be human, as good-hearted as his own father, to play a bigger role in protecting the innocent—but he’s one of the monsters. One who can steal a soul with a simple strain of music. When the chance arises to keep an eye on Kate, who’s just been kicked out of her sixth boarding school and returned home, August jumps at it. But Kate discovers August’s secret, and after a failed assassination attempt the pair must flee for their lives. In This Savage Song, Victoria Schwab creates a gritty, seething metropolis, one worthy of being compared to Gotham and to the four versions of London in her critically acclaimed fantasy for adults, A Darker Shade of Magic. Her heroes will face monsters intent on destroying them from every side—including the monsters within.
~~~~
I've been following Victoria (aka V.E.) and her many writing adventures for years, and I have seen this book grow from an idea that she called "the book known as monster" to "the book formerly known as monster" to a real live thing, and I am SO excited to see what it is all about. Victoria Schwab is churning books out at an alarming pace, but I am SO not complaining, because she has yet to write something that I haven't loved. Can't wait for this one.

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick: The Rose & The Dagger
Renée Ahdieh
release date: April 26
(spoilers for book 1) The much anticipated sequel to the breathtaking The Wrath and the Dawn, lauded by Publishers Weekly as "a potent page-turner of intrigue and romance."
I am surrounded on all sides by a desert. A guest, in a prison of sand and sun. My family is here. And I do not know whom I can trust.
In a land on the brink of war, Shahrzad has been torn from the love of her husband Khalid, the Caliph of Khorasan. She once believed him a monster, but his secrets revealed a man tormented by guilt and a powerful curse—one that might keep them apart forever. Reunited with her family, who have taken refuge with enemies of Khalid, and Tariq, her childhood sweetheart, she should be happy. But Tariq now commands forces set on destroying Khalid's empire. Shahrzad is almost a prisoner caught between loyalties to people she loves. But she refuses to be a pawn and devises a plan.
While her father, Jahandar, continues to play with magical forces he doesn't yet understand, Shahrzad tries to uncover powers that may lie dormant within her. With the help of a tattered old carpet and a tempestuous but sage young man, Shahrzad will attempt to break the curse and reunite with her one true love.
~~~
THIS BOOK IS COMING OUT SO SOON!!!! I am literally dancing about as I type this because I cannot wait to see what's next for Shazi and Khalid. The Wrath and the Dawn was one of my favorite books of 2015, so I can only gope that the sequel will be just as amazing :)
waiting on wednesday: the star-touched queen
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine.
This week's pick: The Star-Touched Queen
by Roshani Chokshi
release date: April 26 by St. Martin's Griffin
blurb: Cursed with a horoscope that promises a marriage of Death and Destruction, sixteen-year-old Maya has only earned the scorn and fear of her father's kingdom. Content to follow more scholarly pursuits, her world is upheaved when her father, the Raja, arranges a wedding of political convenience to quell outside rebellions. But when her wedding takes a fatal turn, Maya becomes the queen of Akaran and wife of Amar. Yet neither roles are what she expected. As Akaran's queen, she finds her voice and power. As Amar's wife, she finds friendship and warmth.
But Akaran has its own secrets - thousands of locked doors, gardens of glass, and a tree that bears memories instead of fruit. Beneath Akaran's magic, Maya begins to suspect her life is in danger. When she ignores Amar's plea for patience, her discoveries put more than new love at risk - it threatens the balance of all realms, human and Otherworldly.
Now, Maya must confront a secret that spans reincarnated lives and fight her way through the dangerous underbelly of the Otherworld if she wants to protect the people she loves.
Inspired by Indian mythology.
~~~
Now, this sounds absolutely incredible, and also absolutely different from anything that is out right now. I can't wait to dive into this world, "inspired by Indian mythology" has me super pumped, and so do all of the glowing reviews I've seen about this one!

waiting on wednesday: the land of 10,000 madonnas
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine.
This week's pick: The Land of 10,000 Madonnas by Kate Hattemer
release date: April 19th from Knopf
blurb: Five teens backpack through Europe to fulfill the mysterious dying wish of their friend.
Jesse lives with his history professor dad in a house covered with postcards of images of the Madonna from all over the world. They’re gotten used to this life: two motherless dudes living among thousands of Madonnas. But Jesse has a heart condition that will ultimately cut his life tragically short. Before he dies, he arranges a mysterious trip to Europe for his three cousins, his best friend, and his girlfriend to take after he passes away. It’s a trip that will forever change the lives of these young teens and one that will help them come to terms with Jesse’s death.
~~~
First things to know about me. I love books and I love traveling. When you do something so wonderfully brilliant as put them together, I am going to love you forever. I think that this book sounds absolutely incredible, heartwarming as well as heartbreaking, and with the backdrop of Europe, it is super high on my TBR for April.
waiting on wednesday: the glittering court
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine.
this week's pick: The Glittering Court by Richelle Mead
release date: April 5
synopsis: For a select group of girls, the Glittering Court offers a shot at a life they’ve only ever dreamed of, one of luxury, glamour, and leisure. To high-born Adelaide, whose wealthy family is forcing her into a loveless marriage, the Glittering Court represents something else: the chance to chart her own destiny, and adventure in an unspoiled, prosperous new land across the sea.
After a chance meeting with the dazzling Cedric Thorn, Adelaide poses as a servant to join the crop of impoverished girls he promises to transform into proper ladies. But her familiarity with upper class life comes with a price: she must hide her identity from her new friends, mysterious refugee Mira and fiery former laundress Tamsin, and most importantly, from Cedric himself—even though she’s falling in love with him.
Everything begins to crumble when Cedric discovers Adelaide’s ruse, and she catches the eye of a powerful young governor, who wants her for a wife. She didn’t leave the gilded cage of her old life behind just to become someone else's property. But nothing is as daunting—or as wonderful—as the potent, forbidden attraction simmering between Adelaide and Cedric. One that, if acted on, would make them both outcasts in a wild, dangerous, uncharted world, and possibly lead them to their deaths.
~~~
I love Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series *a lot,* and I think that this blurb sounds incredible! I know that there have been some mixed reviews for this one, but I personally can't wait to try it out!

waiting on wednesday: wink poppy midnight
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine.
This week's pick:
Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke
release date: March 22
synopsis: Every story needs a hero.
Every story needs a villain.
Every story needs a secret.
Wink is the odd, mysterious neighbor girl, wild red hair and freckles. Poppy is the blond bully and the beautiful, manipulative high school queen bee. Midnight is the sweet, uncertain boy caught between them. Wink. Poppy. Midnight. Two girls. One boy. Three voices that burst onto the page in short, sharp, bewitching chapters, and spiral swiftly and inexorably toward something terrible or tricky or tremendous.
What really happened?
Someone knows.
Someone is lying.
~~~
This sounds really twisty and interesting. I love the tag on the cover: "A hero. A villain. A Liar. Who's who?" I think that's totally brilliant and mysterious. Plus, just the cover in general is one of the most beautiful things that I've ever seen. I really cannot wait to see what this dark, shrouded book holds.
waiting on wednesday: the winner's kiss
This week's pick: The Winner's Curse (The Winner's Trilogy #3) by Marie Rutkoski
(spoilers for the first two!!!!)
War has begun. Arin is in the thick of it with untrustworthy new allies and the empire as his enemy. Though he has convinced himself that he no longer loves Kestrel, Arin hasn’t forgotten her, or how she became exactly the kind of person he has always despised. She cared more for the empire than she did for the lives of innocent people—and certainly more than she did for him.
At least, that’s what he thinks.
In the frozen north, Kestrel is a prisoner in a brutal work camp. As she searches desperately for a way to escape, she wishes Arin could know what she sacrificed for him. She wishes she could make the empire pay for what they’ve done to her.
But no one gets what they want just by wishing.
As the war intensifies, both Kestrel and Arin discover that the world is changing. The East is pitted against the West, and they are caught in between. With so much to lose, can anybody really win?
~~~
I really love this trilogy, and though I'm going to be sad to see it come to an end, I absolutely cannot wait to see how it ends. I honestly don't have any guesses, because there were so many twists and frustratingly bad character decisions in the second book. I just really have hope for a reconciliation between our main characters, but I don't see how it's going to unfold! Can't wait to see though :)

waiting on wednesday: a study in charlotte
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick: A Study in Charlotte
by Brittany Cavallaro
release date: March 1
"The last thing sixteen-year-old Jamie Watson–writer and great-great-grandson of the John Watson–wants is a rugby scholarship to Sherringford, a Connecticut prep school just an hour away from his estranged father. But that’s not the only complication: Sherringford is also home to Charlotte Holmes, the famous detective’s enigmatic, fiercely independent great-great-granddaughter, who’s inherited not just his genius but also his vices, volatile temperament, and expertly hidden vulnerability. Charlotte has been the object of his fascination for as long as he can remember–but from the moment they meet, there’s a tense energy between them, and they seem more destined to be rivals than anything else.
Then a Sherringford student dies under suspicious circumstances ripped straight from the most terrifying of the Holmes stories, and Jamie and Charlotte become the prime suspects. Convinced they’re being framed, they must race against the police to conduct their own investigation. As danger mounts, it becomes clear that nowhere is safe and the only people they can trust are each other.
Equal parts tender, thrilling, and hilarious, A Study in Charlotte is the first in a trilogy brimming with wit and edge-of-the-seat suspense."

waiting on wednesday: map of fates
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted over at Breaking the Spine!
This week's pick: Map of Fates by Maggie Hall (The Conspiracy of Us #2)
release date: March 8
(spoilers for book 1!) Two weeks.
That’s how long it took for Avery West’s ordinary life to change forever: In two weeks, she discovered she was heiress to a powerful secret society known as the Circle, learned her mother was taken hostage by the Circle’s enemies, and fell for a boy she’s not allowed to love, just as she found out another was her unwelcome destiny.
Now, Avery crosses oceans in private jets to hunt for clues that will uncover the truth about the Circle, setting her mom and herself free before it’s too late. By her side are both the boys: Jack—steady, loyal, and determined to help her even at the expense of his own duty—and Stellan, whose connection to Avery grows stronger by the day despite her best intentions, making her question what she believes at every turn.
But at the end of a desperate hunt from the islands of Greece to the red carpet at Cannes comes a discovery that not only changes everything, but could bring the whole world to its knees. And now Avery is forced to face the truth: in the world of the Circle, no one is what they seem.
~~~
I really enjoyed the first book of this series when I read it last year, especially for the amazing settings that it included. I can't wait to see where the story goes next, both plotwise and also which fabulous locations that Maggie Hall will take our characters to.
